Abortion – Our own Holocaust

Everyone expresses outrage that the Nazis butchered every Jew they could get their hands on. Everyone also condemns powerless Germans living under Hitler for failing to do something. But here we sit in a supposedly free country that has somewhere along the way turned into something similar to Nazi Germany. Our tax dollars are used to finance Planned Parenthood, which, not only performs abortions, but now sells human body parts from the aborted babies. (Take a look at Matt Walsh’s blog on this. I can’t see how this is much different from selling shoes and gold teeth you stole from Jews on their way to the gas chamber.

Not only do most people stand by and not do anything, but I see idiots in the comments section arguing that the unborn “are not children”. At first I was confused by this statement. What else could they be? But then I realized the Nazis, oops I mean Pro-Choizis, force themselves to believe the lie that the unborn are not children. Isn’t this EXACTLY the same logic the Nazis used on the Jews? They aren’t humans? The Choizis argue that the unborn aren’t children in the first trimester, nor in the last trimester, when they are always 15 minutes away from birth by C-section.

I urge all of you to write and call your senators and congressman and beg them to at least stop funding Planned Parenthood. We are in the midst of another Holocaust, but this time, we are the perpetrators. Don’t stand silently by when you CAN do something.

Christianity and You

I was raised a Roman Catholic. My church attendance plummeted once I moved away from home. But once my kids arrived in my life I started going back because I thought it was important for them to have a religious background.

And while in church, now that I was no longer a teen-ager, I started to really listen. I found that the message was both extremely relevant to me in my current life, and extremely important. There were messages such as “enjoy the moment you are in”, “love is selfless”, and “forgive”. There were also tactical lessons such as what forgiveness really means, and how to discipline yourself. (I still need improvement here and almost everywhere else really)

I applied some of these teachings and found they worked. I also noted that the messages of our culture, “Love means never having to say you are sorry”, “Romance is the same thing as Love”, “If it feels good, do it” and “Looking out for number one”, were pretty much 180 degrees out from what they were teaching in church. I now believe following the messages of our culture are a sure recipe for an unhappy life.

So here I am going to perhaps the most unbending of the Christian religions hearing things that are totally out of step with what our popular culture is pushing. I’m seeing that actually applying these principles works.* I then reexamined places where I had staked out a position different from the church, and I came to realize that whenever you behaved differently than the church said you should, you were the one who was going to suffer. And I don’t mean suffer in the afterlife, I mean suffer in the current one. Think of any commandment, and think of consequences if you get caught breaking it, and think of the consequences if you break it, but don’t get caught. Lots eh? Think of the times when you have violated Church teachings. How has this worked out for you?
What does all this long winded ranting mean? It means the Church isn’t there to oppress us or control us. The Church is there TO PROTECT US FROM OURSELVES AND OUR BAD, SELF-DESTRUCTIVE IMPULSES. The church tries to give us the tools to help us as well. The Church teaches us self discipline. The Church further teaches us to love selflessly and how to treat others (as we would be treated). In short the church teaches us to live in a way that will make us happy and gives us the tools to do it.

I credit my religious upbringing with helping me avoid doing really bad things, which are pretty much unthinkable to me. I’ve seen that where I’ve strayed from the more subtle of Church teachings also results in more subtle forms of unhappiness. And, I’ve seen where following Church teachings has led to personal satisfaction and happiness. I personally am no saint. I wouldn’t consider myself holy. I wouldn’t even say that I’m a good Catholic. I am in no way someone who should be giving anyone spiritual advice. All I can say is, Christianity, if you let it, will make you happier. I only suggest seeking it out for yourself to see if it helps you live more happily.

*True story. The message in church one week was “Don’t live for the weekend” Roughly, if you find yourself just living for the weekend, you are wishing away a lot of your life. Figure out how to enjoy the week as well. Some time after that, my wife informed me that we were taking the kids to the beach. I had another list of things I had wanted to do that Saturday, and taking the kids to the beach WAS NOT ON IT. But once I was there sitting on the sand, baking in the sun, brushing away the flies, I decided to have as good a time as I could while I was at the beach. It’s like I flicked a little switch from baditude to positive attitude. I don’t remember what I did at the beach, something on the order of played with the kids, but I did have a good time. So, just by adjusting my attitude I was able to turn a negative event into a positive event.

Pleasure and Satisfaction

I think I’ve hit on this in a roundabout way. I’ve posted on the things that have brought me happiness, a career, marriage, children and things like that. Then I thought about things that I most liked to do; eat, watch movies, games with friends, party, read, hike, whatever. The things that bring pleasure are temporary and really don’t provide any lasting satisfaction. The things that are hard, building a business, raising children, working, keeping your relationship in order, these are the things that ultimately lead to satisfaction.

Think about that for a moment. The entire focus of our instant gratification “culture” is on pleasure. It’s everywhere a preoccupation with sex, fun, partying, sports, entertainment, drinking, romance, “self fulfillment” (which is often code for “I want a divorce”), “finding yourself”. The list is an endless focus on happiness through pleasure with a single minded focus on the self. Hollywood, the media, and leftists in general totally push for this happiness through pleasure. Have all the sex you want with anyone you want. “Do what you love and the money will follow.” Be entertained. Enjoy. You only live once. And so on

The left says it hates Christianity because it is oppressive. Nothing could be further from the truth. The church teaches us not to have sex outside marriage. not to overindulge in food, alcohol and to love and care for others ahead of one self. This is not to oppress, this is to protect us from our own selves.

Take these one at a time.

What does sex outside of marriage lead to? Divorce. Unwanted pregnancy. Disease. Inability to commit to long term relationships.

What does overindulgence lead to? Poor health. Alcoholism. Diabetes. Obesity.

And what does total focus on self lead to? I’m not quite sure, but probably it leads to a life alone with no spouse, no children and few if any real friends.

I think a life totally devoted to pleasure will not be a happy life. I think a life focused on caring for others, raising children and trying to get closer to God is what will make you truly happy. This is the harder path, but the harder path will bring the greatest reward. And reward on earth comes from satisfaction of accomplishments and not any temporary pleasure. They’ll go over rewards on the next life in church.

So, I advise you to go back to Church, to learn how to really pray and get closer to God, and to choose a satisfying life over a purely pleasurable one.

The Left is a CULT!!!!

I was thinking of writing an article comparing islamists to cultists and while going over the characteristics of a cult, I realized that the democratic party is a giant cult. Here are some characteristics plagiariazed right off the internet:

‪ 1. The group displays excessively zealous and unquestioning commitment to its leader and (whether he is alive or dead) regards his belief system, ideology, and practices as the Truth, as law.

The leftists come in different flavors, but this describes them to a T. You can’t reason with them on anything. They are completely indoctrinated in and believe; the rape culture myth, the global warming crap, the gay’s are better parents bullshit. When you come up with facts, they just yell louder. Mostly they just call the opposition names, which really means they’ve lost the argument.

2. ‪ Questioning, doubt, and dissent are discouraged or even punished.

They are especially brutal to people who are supposed to be in their group, but aren’t. Examples are women who aren’t feminists, conservative blacks, and so on. The rest of us are just racist, misogonyst, islamophobic, homophobes. Well I may be an islamophobe, but it doesn’t mean they aren’t trying to kill me.

3. ‪ Mind-altering practices (such as meditation, chanting, speaking in tongues, denunciation sessions, and debilitating work routines) are used in excess and serve to suppress doubts about the group and its leader(s).

“What do we want?”
“Dead cops”
“What do we want?”
“Dead cops”
“What do we want?”
“Dead cops”

I think I have them on this one.

4. ‪ The leadership dictates, sometimes in great detail, how members should think, act, and feel (for example, members must get permission to date, change jobs, marry—or leaders prescribe what types of clothes to wear, where to live, whether or not to have children, how to discipline children, and so forth).

This one is more subtle, but isn’t there a pressure to; not have children, not discipline children, drive a prius, live down town, only date other leftists?

‪5. The group is elitist, claiming a special, exalted status for itself, its leader(s) and members (for example, the leader is considered the Messiah, a special being, an avatar—or the group and/or the leader is on a special mission to save humanity).

OH MY GOD. Yes the messiah just sent shivers up the legs of the entire elitest media/academia bunch, who all consider themselves better than us bitter clingers.

6. ‪ The group has a polarized us-versus-them mentality, which may cause conflict with the wider society.

yep

7. ‪ The leader is not accountable to any authorities (unlike, for example, teachers, military commanders or ministers, priests, monks, and rabbis of mainstream religious denominations).

We don’t need no stinking constitution. Fast and furious. IRS scandal….”I can change the law by myself” “I have a pen”

‪8. The group teaches or implies that its supposedly exalted ends justify whatever means it deems necessary. This may result in members’ participating in behaviors or activities they would have considered reprehensible or unethical before joining the group (for example, lying to family or friends, or collecting money for bogus charities).

yessirreebob. “If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor. If you like your health care, you can keep your health plan.” They are perfectly willing to lie and really do anything, think IRS scandal, and really a host of other scandals.

9.‪ The leadership induces feelings of shame and/or guilt iin order to influence and/or control members. Often, this is done through peer pressure and subtle forms of persuasion. (you are all racists, homophobes, misogonysts, islamophobes, haters, party of no…need I go on?)

‪10. Subservience to the leader or group requires members to cut ties with family and friends, and radically alter the personal goals and activities they had before joining the group.

My leftist parents don’t talk to me very much any more, and I don’t get anything at all from my former leftist friend. (Hi Phil)

‪11. The group is preoccupied with bringing in new members.

Let’s have the entire population of Mexico sneak into the country illegaly because they might be democrats

‪12. The group is preoccupied with making money.

yep-send in $3 so we can stop the evil; Koch brother/Republicans/Romney…

13.‪ Members are expected to devote inordinate amounts of time to the group and group-related activities.

well, let’s just set up a tent city and occupy central park, NY forever

14.‪ The most loyal members (the “true believers”) feel there can be no life outside the context of the group. They believe there is no other way to be, and often fear reprisals to themselves or others if they leave (or even consider leaving) the group.

Read the “Black Book of the American Left” by David Horowitz to see his struggle in getting out of the cult.

The left is a cult. Maybe not every democrat is in the cult, but I suspect you know people who are. Comment with your stories!!

Lying media and the Catholic Church

The lying media hates the Catholic Church. I think it’s because their religion is leftism/communism/feminism/etcism, and they see another religion as a threat to theirs. The media reveled in the church’s priest scandals, though they were careful to label the gay priests as “pedophiles” so they wouldn’t offend the gay members of leftism. They appear to be fawning over Pope Francis, not because of respect, but because he is easily misquoted and misrepresented into sounding like a leftist. Nothing could be further from the truth. “concern for the poor” is turned into “communism is good’ or ”capitalism is bad”. “Gays and divorced should be welcomed to the church” is turned into “Pope approves of gay marriage and divorce” I assure you, that even though the church welcomes everyone, the Pope is standing by traditional marriage.

Another aspect of Christianity the lying media and leftists hate is that it goes against the “everything and I mean everything goes” attitude of the left. They don’t want to feel bad when they dump their spouse, abandon their children and run off with their gay lover.

So I submit to you, my tiny handful of readers, that if the lying leftist media is against it, maybe it is something good. In fact, maybe Christianity is something wonderful.

Christianity allowed the kind of culture that developed into western civilization. If you don’t believe that, go live in Syria for a bit.

Christianity does forbid a number of behaviors, THAT YOU WILL PERSONALLY GREATLY BENEFIT BY NOT DOING. Think about it, what good comes from coveting your neighbors wife or stuff? Does anyone really benefit very much from divorce? Certainly the children don’t, and most divorced people I’ve talked to take years if not decades to recover, if they can recover at all. Not stealing or murdering seem pretty obvious, though leftists are only for murdering or stealing from conservatives. I suggest any leftists reading think about the commandment “Thou shalt have no other gods” and drop out of the lying left.
